Often, formal measures of achievement are a critical aspect of reaching one’s goals and creating, rather than limiting choices. Thus, we encourage students to strive for, rather than be intimidated by benchmark exams such as the AP tests, high school EXIT, ACT, GED, OR CAT-6 exams. Our individualized program of 1-on-1 instructions not only supports students academic development and reinforces fundamentals, but also allows for explicit test instruction that directly addresses test formats and strategies.
The CAHSEE is a test of language arts and math skills. Beginning with the class of 2006, all high school students must pass the CAHSEE in order to receive a diploma. CAT-6 exams are intended to monitor students’ progress from elementary through
high school. They do not influence GPA, college acceptance or other forms of
academic merit. Thus, preparation for these exams may be less relevant than
students’ actual results.
CAT-6 results can reveal real difficulties and weaknesses in your child’s abilities.
Thus, if your child scores at basic or proficient levels in any given category, he or
she may be frustrated in the classroom. Consider tutoring to support your child
